USA Today Highlights Suicide Rates Among Active-duty Troops
USA Today recently ran an article by Tom Vanden Brook titled, Suicide Rate Among Active-duty Troops Jumps to Six-year High, COVID-19 Stress Could Make it Even Worse,” highlighting the increase in suicide rates from 2019 to 2020 among active members.
Veteran suicide rates always impact the KWC community substantially. With the addition of the pandemic and election stress, there’s no surprise that numbers are increasing amongst service members. Here at Ketamine Wellness Centers, we have the honor of treating a number of veterans suffering from Suicidality and PTSD at each one of our clinics. Ketamine therapy, in conjunction with talk therapy and a tailored wellness program, can rapidly reduce suicidal ideation. Our clinical program is not an alternative to the VA but rather a unique and complementary lifeline for those returning soldiers who are in need or supportive mental health services. If you or a loved one are suffering, there is hope and help.
At Ketamine Wellness Centers, we also provide a Hero’s Discount for those who are suffering from mental health. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder has recently become a focus of our government and military, partly due to the recent documentaries, movies, and publicized legal proceedings. PTSD deserves to be addressed much like any other medical physical ailment and the men and women who have served our country deserve to have relief.
Also, in case you missed it, watch a Hero’s Journey on our blog. A Hero’s Journey tells the story of a young Air Force Veteran struggling with depression, PTSD, and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome from her time in the Gulf War.
