Delic Announces Pending Acquisition of KWC by Peter/PetraMD - Patients Please Contact Us For More Information

CEO Update | January 2023

Welcome, 2023! Ketamine Wellness Centers is entering its 12th year of providing ketamine services to patients throughout the United States and from other countries. Wow, how time flies. While our clinic growth plan for 2022 wasn’t as expansive as we had planned, we still were able to see a significant rise in our treatment volume year over year. KWC ended 2021 providing just under 10,000 infusions (9,766 exactly). In 2022, KWC provided over 12,000 infusions (12,054) — a 23% increase over the previous year. The other significant change we are seeing is the large jump in our insurance-based treatment volume. At the end of 2021, 23.8% of our patient treatments were covered by insurance. KWC ended 2022 with a 32.1% insurance volume resulting in more than 1500 infusions from the prior year. As one of the few companies that accepts insurance for this type of treatment, we continue to look at other services we can provide under our wellness umbrella of care.

We are pleased to announce the expansion of our Hero Discount Program this year to include both registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses / licensed practical nurses in our treatment discount program. I have heard from my nurse colleagues that the last few years have taken an exceptional toll on those men and women who took care of us through the pandemic and other challenges. I have requested the clinic team reach out to any of our known healthcare providers who are current patients and inform them of this change. Please see our website if you have questions about this and any other program.

Speaking of programs, there has been a lot of buzz over the last year about ketamine-assisted therapy and ensuring ketamine therapy is combined with mental health support. Our philosophy has always been focused on a holistic approach rather than seeing ketamine as a “magic bullet.” The three-legged stool of wellness — ketamine, mental health support (talk therapy), and healthy living activities — is key to patients’ success. Sonia C., our Health and Wellness Coordinator, has successfully completed a certified ketamine-assisted therapy program that allows her to provide Facilitated Treatment Support (FTS) in-person at our Tucson clinic or remotely. If you are looking for someone who really understands what you or your loved one is going through during treatment and need some support along the way, please reach out to your local clinic. You can also read about this program on our website to get more out of your treatment.

Lastly, exciting news coming from MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) — the second Phase III trial of MDMA-assisted therapy confirmed the findings from the first trial and should be published in late 2023. These findings will support MAPS’ new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Delic / Ketamine Wellness Centers is perfectly positioned with our clinic size, treatment hours, in-room service, and insurance coverage to be one of the first companies to be able to offer this therapy to the community.

Thank you for trusting us to care for you or your loved ones.

Respectfully,

Kevin Nicholson BSN/MBA
