The International Pain Foundation presents the Hero of Hope Awards annually. Celebrating our 11-year anniversary we have 4 award categories; The Nerve to Be Heard, Corporate; Caregiver; and Pain Patient, recognizing exceptional recipients who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to assisting and advocating for people with chronic pain diseases. Nominations were solicited from the pain community of those who are making a significant contribution within the field of research, education, awareness, or patient assistance for each category.

Canadian, Nicole Arbour – Comedian, Recording Artist, Motivator, and pain patient is a cheerleader for life, and overcoming the impossible! Her #GOTEAM project is a prime example spotlighting why she is a 2017 recipient of The International Pain Foundation’s Hero of Hope – The Nerve to Be Heard award. This past year Nicole has been working on projects such as her upcoming documentary series on living with chronic pain, featured celebrity cover story in iPain Living Magazine, participated in an iPainPOP video, and creates positive pain patient advocacy on her social media platforms repeatedly. Nicole is using her voice and her over 600 million video view audience to raise awareness about the challenges in receiving proper and timely care as a pain patient and the public health crisis it has created internationally.

Barby Ingle, iPain President, said, “Nicole is making a difference in people’s lives through sharing her chronic pain journey through her unique talents as a comedian, host, and performer. The inspiration and raw energy Nicole provides in her iPainPOP video and videos sharing her pain journey helps to keep pain patients positively focused as we deal with our chronic pain challenges and learn how to become our own best advocate just as she does.”

The award recipients will be honored live at the iPain Hero of Hope Awards Dinner on December 11, 2017 in Los Angeles, CA. Mariasol Restaurant at the Santa Monica Pier, 401 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA 90401. Each of the finalists will be recognized in the event program.
